Residential Trips

In the senior school the curriculum is extended by a residential trip for each year group. All the trips are included in our fee structure and there is no extra charge.

Year 5

Early in the school year the boys go on a trip to an activity centre. They leave on Wednesday morning and return on Friday evening. Activities may include climbing, archery, “discovery walks” and the like. Many of the activities are of a team-building nature. We feel this is an exciting start to life in the senior school.

Year 6

At the same time as the Year 5 boys go away, our Year 6 group visit the West Midlands in order to find out about Victorian Britain. Trips to Ironbridge and Carding Mill Valley help the boys get a feel for life then as does the popular excursion to Cadbury World.

Year 7

At the end of the Summer Term Year 7 head off to France for a week. The trip has a dual purpose. Firstly to experience French culture and practice a little of the language and secondly to collect the data for their Common Entrance Geography project, which has to be completed the following term.

Year 8

Following the Common Entrance examinations the Year 8 boys head off to the Lake District where they stay at YHA accommodation, do some mountain climbing and go on a thrilling day out to the Pleasure Beach at Blackpool, or to the Isle of Mull where they live in a hut on the side of a hill, which has no electricity or running water. All power is supplied by gas and the nearby stream provides the sparkling fresh water. The boys climb a mountain, swim in a natural rock pool and generally live a life very different to that of the one experienced in North London. These trips are a memorable end to their years at Keble.
